Inflammatory angiomyolipoma of the liver: a rare hepatic tumor
Angiomyolipoma (AML) is a rare mesenchymal neoplasm of the tumor, composed of a varying heterogeneous mixture of three tissue components: blood vessels, smooth muscle and adipose cells. Hepatic AML may demonstrate a marked histological diversity. We herein present one case of hepatic AML exhibiting prominent inflammatory cells in the background, which happened in a 61-year-old Chinese female pa...
متن کاملThree Trocars Laparoscopic Resection of Angiomyolipoma of the Liver
Angiomyolipoma of the liver (AML) is an infrequent neoplasm composed of three tissues (adipose, muscle and vessels). In spite of advances in radiology, preoperative correct diagnosis is difficult. Clasically, a conservative management strategy was adopted in patients with asymptomatic tumors less than 5 cm with undoubtful diagnosis. But after publishing some few cases of malignant angiomyolipom...
متن کاملA Case of Huge Solitary Angiomyolipoma of the Liver
A 32-year-old male patient, diagnosed as a hepatic solitary angiomyolipoma post-operatively, is reported. The tumor was well definedly inhomogenous fat density mass on ultrasonography, computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The lesion was hypervascular on arteriography. The diagnosis was confirmed by an extended right lobectomy and histological examination.
متن کاملMultifocal angiomyolipoma affecting the liver and lung without tuberous sclerosis.
The occurrence of angiomyolipoma (AML) in tissue other than the kidney is uncommon, as is multiple AML developing exclusively in organs other than the kidney. This report describes a case in which AML occurred multifocally in the liver and lung, but spared the kidney, and which might have been associated with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). A Japanese woman underwent a partial hepatectomy for...
متن کاملEpithelioid angiomyolipoma of the liver: a case report
Epithelioid angiomyolipoma (EAML) of liver is a rare neoplasm. Hepatic EAML is often misdiagnosed as other neoplasms such as hepatocellular carcinoma due to non-specific clinical and radiologic features. The morphologic features under microscope and immunohistochemistry staining profile are important in the diagnosis EAML. Here, we report a case of 52-year-old man who found 1.2 cm mass in liver...
